SunOpta Reports 3Q Loss of $4.7 Million
Canadian Press DataFile -- TORONTO -- November 5, 2009 -- SunOpta Inc. (TSX:SOY) reported a loss of US$4.7 million in its latest quarter on Thursday as revenue fell more than 10 per cent.The natural food company, which keeps its books in U.S. dollars, said the loss amounted to seven cents per diluted share for the quarter ended Sept. 30 compared with a profit of $3.9 million or six cents per share a year ago.
Revenue totalled $253.8 million, down from $287.7 million.
Shares in the company, which reported its results after the close of markets, were down three cents at $3.91 on the Toronto Stock Exchange on Thursday.
