The Winter Crops Sowing for Harvest 2013 Starts in Ukraine
Targeted News Service -- KIEV, UKRAINE -- August 14, 2012 -- Ukraine has launched sowing campaign for harvest of the next 2013. 75.4 hectares of winter rape has currently been sown. This was informed by Oleksandr Sen, the Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food."At present, agricultural enterprises sown oilseed rape, the total crop area is 75.4 hectares or 6% of the projected areas," he said.
The Deputy Minister emphasized that sowing of winter rape started in the best agrotechnical deadlines and would be completed by early September, as well now the weather conditions of the last days facilitate to this.
"Those rains, which are now in Ukraine, after prolonged drought, contribute to the restoration of a moisture which is necessary to ensure shoots of winter crops," added Oleksandr Sen.
