Kelly Products Announces Software Contract with the Georgia Department of Agriculture
PR Newswire -- COVINGTON, GA -- October 2, 2012 -- Kelly Products, a leading provider of essential information and automation solutions to the agribusiness industry, recently announced a contract of Kelly Registration Systems (KRS), its software division, with the Georgia Department of Agriculture (GDA). Over the past several months KRS has worked closely with GDA to implement a single departmental management solution for product registrations and renewals, licensing and payment processing, as well as inspections and enforcement.Interdepartmental divisions can access a single database to manage all registrants and licensees. This not only allows for paperless processes, but also provides real-time data for inspectors in the field. And funds can be collected more accurately and efficiently. The process of a registrant paying online to receiving an electronic copy of his license is now possible in a matter of minutes.
"We are committed to greener practices across the board. We understand the need for e-communication and payment options for our constituents in the current marketplace and we are doing everything we can to provide such opportunities," says Tommy Gray, Associate Director of the Plant Industries Division, Georgia Department of Agriculture.
To date, three divisions encompassing 31 programs have been implemented. During the past renewal season, the state was able to process nearly $1 million in credit card transactions for electronic product and license renewals.
"We set internal goals for online adoption rates for our customers and make sure that the systems are properly equipped. One of our main goals when working with states is to provide an environment similar to their current landscape through customization of requirements from rules to workflow to terminology," said Stuart Edmondson, CTO, Kelly Registration Systems.
"KRS has worked with Georgia's Plant Industries Group since 2004 processing online renewals, and we are pleased to be working with the state in this new capacity. The Department is under great leadership and we hope to continue to support its technology needs," says Keith Kelly, president, Kelly Products, Inc.
